Double Feeding, Chopped BBs, Inconsistent Hop Up Issues for All KitsUpdated 23 days ago
Symptoms
Your gun will cycle normally in both semi and automatic firing modes. During shooting, you notice one or more of the following:
Multiple rounds get fired in one trigger pull (in semi auto) – this could be two or three or more.
Chunks or pieces of rounds get fired out of the barrel
Every round feeds, but hop up performance is poor or inconsistent. Maybe some rounds go straight, but other shoot up and others down. Maybe no matter how much hop up you apply, the flight path remains the same. Maybe rounds spray in an unpredictable shotgun pattern from the muzzle.
Causes
While DG kit engine issues can cause or contribute to these sorts of problems, the most common causes for these issues include:
- Poor magazine compatibility
- Poor inner barrel compatibility with the build
- Damage to the hop up bucking
- Poor bucking alignment inside of the hop up chamber
- Loose feed tube
- Regulator pressure too low
- Low quality BBs
- Airshaft too far forward or back
- Damage or wear to airshaft crush ring and/or shaft spring
- Your build is new and has simply not broken in fully yet
Please keep in mind that it is possible for the above to be a sole cause, or that several common causes may be the culprit.
Solutions
The following chart of solutions generally applies to all DG kits and builds. Please check the page for your specific build type if your problem persists after trying the solutions suggested in the chart below.
